Ahmed Mohsen Faraj Al-Humaidawi, the Secretary-General of the Iran-backed Iraqi militia Kataib Hezbollah, was reportedly killed in a U.S. airstrike, according to circulating reports.

Al-Humaidawi, also known as Abu Hussein, has been a prominent leader within the militia, which is part of the network of Iran-aligned armed groups operating in Iraq.
Kataib Hezbollah is considered one of the most powerful Iran-aligned militias in Iraq, and it has been involved in attacks against U.S. forces and coalition facilities in the region over the years.
Reports note that two days before the strike, Al-Humaidawi publicly threatened to turn the United States and Israel into a “graveyard.”
The reported strike comes amid the widening regional conflict involving the United States, Israel, Iran, and Iran-aligned militias, which has seen multiple targeted strikes on militia leaders and military infrastructure across Iraq and the broader Middle East.
Officials have not yet released additional operational details about the strike.
