Israeli sources report that no casualties were recorded among Israeli forces during the military operation carried out in the Bekaa town of Nabi Chit, Lebanon, according to statements broadcast on Israeli radio. The reports come after widespread claims of a special forces raid and aerial strikes in the area overnight.
According to the same sources, the Israeli army reportedly issued evacuation warnings to residents of Nabi Chit before the operation began, instructing civilians to leave the area prior to the strikes and military activity. The operation took place amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, which have intensified across Lebanon since early March.
Nabi Chit has drawn particular attention in Israeli intelligence circles because of its historical connection to the 1986 disappearance of Israeli Air Force navigator Ron Arad, who was captured in Lebanon after his aircraft went down during a mission. Over the years, multiple intelligence assessments suggested that Arad was held in or around the Nabi Chit area before disappearing.
The latest developments follow a series of heavy Israeli strikes across Lebanon, including attacks targeting Hezbollah positions and infrastructure during the current escalation. Reports from Lebanese authorities also indicate that airstrikes in the Nabi Chit area caused casualties and damage overnight as the broader confrontation continues to expand.
