Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a strong warning to Iran and Hezbollah, declaring that both will face severe consequences as Israel continues its military campaign across the region.
Speaking during a press conference on March 12, 2026, Netanyahu said Israel is working to eliminate all threats linked to Iran, describing Tehran as the greatest strategic danger to Israel. He said the current military operation against Iran represents a historic moment that could reshape the balance of power in the Middle East.
Netanyahu confirmed that Israel has carried out numerous overt and covert operations aimed at weakening Iran’s military capabilities, particularly targeting its ballistic missile infrastructure and nuclear program. He stressed that a central objective of the campaign is to prevent Iran from relocating its nuclear and missile programs deep underground, where they could become more difficult to target.
The Israeli leader also issued direct warnings toward enemy leadership, suggesting that key figures linked to Iran and its allies could become targets. Referring to Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei and Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem, Netanyahu said that “their fate is known,” a remark widely interpreted as a threat against senior figures connected to Iran’s regional network.
Addressing Lebanon, Netanyahu said he had already warned the Lebanese government that allowing Hezbollah to operate freely from its territory risks severe consequences. He said Beirut is “playing with fire” by permitting Hezbollah attacks against Israel.
Despite the aggressive tone of the speech, Netanyahu acknowledged that Israel cannot guarantee the collapse of the Iranian regime, signaling a more cautious assessment of the war’s ultimate outcome. He reiterated support for the Iranian people, saying Israel stands with them but that the future of Iran ultimately depends on the actions of its citizens.
Netanyahu also hinted at emerging regional partnerships, stating that Israel is building new alliances in the Middle East that would have seemed impossible only weeks ago. Analysts believe this refers to growing security coordination between Israel and several Arab states that view Iran as a shared threat.
In a notable domestic political message, Netanyahu referenced his ongoing legal proceedings, describing them as a political trial and arguing that he should be allowed to remain in office to finish the war and strengthen Israel’s new regional alliances.
The remarks come as Israel continues military operations against Iranian targets while tensions with Hezbollah along the Lebanese front remain high.
