TikTok Announces Service Restoration Following Trump’s Assurance
Washington, D.C. – TikTok has issued an official statement confirming that the platform is in the process of restoring service to its U.S. users after an agreement with its service providers.
The statement reads:
“In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.”
The announcement comes after President-Elect Donald Trump declared his intent to issue an executive order on Monday to delay the TikTok ban, which went into effect at midnight. Trump emphasized his desire to work out a solution that ensures U.S. national security while allowing the platform to remain operational.
Following the ban, widespread panic among TikTok users led to an influx of non-emergency 911 calls across the country, prompting law enforcement agencies to urge the public to stay informed through official channels.
Service restoration efforts are currently underway, and TikTok has assured users that updates will be provided as the process continues.
