EXCLUSIVE: TRUMP TO OFFER SAUDI ARABIA $100 BILLION ARMS PACKAGE
Sources tell Reuters that U.S. President Donald Trump is set to offer Saudi Arabia a historic arms deal worth over $100 billion. The proposal, slated for announcement during Trump’s upcoming visit to Riyadh in May, comes after failed attempts by the Biden administration to finalize a defense pact that included the normalization of ties with Israel.
Key elements of the deal include advanced weapons systems like C-130 transport aircraft, missiles, radars, and drones, with major U.S. defense contractors like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, and General Atomics expected to play key roles.
This arms package could also see Saudi Arabia halt its arms purchases from China and restrict Chinese investment in the kingdom, a requirement discussed under previous U.S. proposals.
The deal underscores the importance of U.S.-Saudi ties, with Trump having previously touted weapons sales as beneficial for American jobs. While much of the proposed package has been in the works for some time, including a $20 billion deal for General Atomics’ drones, the announcement signals a major shift in Middle Eastern geopolitics and defense dynamics.
