Iranian sources denied the existence of any direct or indirect negotiations with the United States, contradicting statements by U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, a senior source stated that “there are no direct or indirect negotiations with Trump,” adding that Washington stepped back after realizing Iranian targets could include energy infrastructure across the region.
Earlier, President Trump announced he had ordered a delay in planned strikes on Iranian energy facilities following what he described as “very good and productive” talks with Tehran. He said discussions would continue over the coming days and that military action had been postponed for five days pending the outcome.
The conflicting statements highlight ongoing uncertainty surrounding diplomatic efforts amid escalating tensions.
