IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir stated that the battle against Hezbollah has “only just begun,” warning that the group will be left isolated once the campaign against Iran concludes.
Speaking during a high-level assessment at Northern Command, Zamir approved plans to deepen ground operations in Lebanon and praised commanders for their recent achievements. He emphasized that the fight against Iran and the northern front are directly linked, describing Hezbollah as a central arm of Iran’s network.
Zamir said Hezbollah made a “serious mistake” by joining the conflict, adding that the decision is harming both the group and Lebanon as a whole. He stressed that there is “no safe place” for Iran or its proxies, and that any threat to Israeli civilians will be met with a precise and powerful response.
According to the IDF, Israeli forces have struck over 2,000 targets in recent weeks, destroying dozens of weapons depots and killing hundreds of operatives.
Zamir confirmed that Israel is preparing to expand ground maneuvers and intensify strikes under a structured plan, stating that operations will continue until threats are removed from the northern border and long-term security is ensured.
