The United States rejected a proposal from Russia that would have involved halting intelligence sharing with Iran in exchange for Washington stopping intelligence support to Ukraine, according to Politico citing sources familiar with the matter.
The offer was reportedly made by Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Direct Investment Fund, during a meeting in Miami with White House Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and senior advisor Jared Kushner.
U.S. officials declined the proposal, maintaining their current intelligence commitments, particularly in support of Ukraine amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
