The U.S. Army’s M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) was filmed launching an ATACMS tactical ballistic missile toward targets in Iran during Operation Epic Fury, the ongoing U.S.–Israeli military campaign.

Footage released by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) shows the mobile launcher elevating its pod before firing the missile in a night-time launch sequence. The Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) is a long-range precision strike weapon designed to hit high-value targets deep behind enemy lines.

The missile launch highlights the use of ground-based deep-strike systems in the campaign, which has involved coordinated operations from air, sea, and land forces targeting Iranian military infrastructure.
HIMARS units have been used to strike command centers, missile infrastructure, and other strategic targets, providing long-range precision fire support as part of the broader effort to degrade Iran’s military capabilities.
ATACMS is a short-range ballistic missile with precision GPS guidance, capable of striking targets hundreds of kilometers away, giving ground forces the ability to conduct deep strikes without relying solely on aircraft.
