Diplomatic sources told Israel Hayom that several Gulf states rejected a U.S. request to participate directly in the war against Iran.
According to the report, Washington asked Gulf countries to assist in targeting Iranian missile and drone launch platforms responsible for attacks against the region. The request also included participation in protecting ships and oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy shipping route.
However, the sources said Gulf governments declined the request, choosing not to become directly involved in offensive military operations against Iran despite the ongoing escalation in the region.
The development highlights the delicate position of Gulf states, which are currently focused on defending their territories from missile and drone attacks while attempting to avoid direct military confrontation with Tehran.
