ZELENSKY BLASTS U.S. EMBASSY’S “WEAK” RESPONSE TO DEADLY MISSILE STRIKE
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sharply criticized the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv for what he called a “surprisingly disappointing” response to a Russian missile strike that killed 18 civilians, including 9 children, in his hometown Kryvyi Rih.
“Such a strong country, such strong people, and yet such a weak reaction,” Zelensky said.
“They are afraid to even say the word ‘Russian’ when speaking about the missile that murdered children.”
Zelensky condemned the embassy’s reluctance to directly blame Russia, warning that silence and euphemisms only embolden Moscow. The missile strike also left more than 50 injured, with emergency crews still searching through the rubble.
His remarks reflect growing frustration in Ukraine over what is seen as softened Western rhetoric and insufficient diplomatic pressure on the Kremlin, especially amid ongoing deadly assaults on civilian targets.
