Ukraine Unveils Ronnie-13 Drone With Fiber-Optic Control

🇺🇦 Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has officially approved the Ronnie-13 strike drone for military deployment, marking a significant leap in battlefield technology. Designed by a local manufacturer and tailored for frontline needs, the Ronnie-13 is equipped with fiber-optic control systems, making it immune to traditional radio jamming and harder for enemy forces to detect.

The drone boasts a lightweight, durable frame, powered by high-efficiency brushless motors and long-lasting batteries, giving it extended operational range. It can carry various warheads or mission-specific payloads, including night vision and surveillance equipment, making it a versatile modular platform for multiple strike or recon missions.

Developed in part by the Wild Hornets (Dyki Shershni)—Ukraine’s leading military-tech innovators—the Ronnie-13 joins a broader drone ecosystem that includes interceptor UAVs capable of flying at 11 km altitude, along with the Volynyaka platform for logistics and offensive operations in any weather.

In parallel, Ukraine has begun finalizing a contract for tens of thousands of long-range deep-strike drones, part of its systematic drone warfare doctrine that now sees daily missions targeting high-value assets deep inside Russian-held territory.

The Ronnie-13’s fiber-optic system represents the next phase of Ukraine’s asymmetric warfare strategy, enabling precision strikes while staying beyond the reach of traditional EW countermeasures.
