The Israeli military issued a warning directed at members of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, stating that Israel would target any efforts to appoint a new supreme leader following what it described as the neutralization of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
According to the statement, the Assembly of Experts — the body responsible for selecting Iran’s supreme leader — is expected to convene in the city of Qom. Israeli officials said the Iranian leadership is attempting to reorganize and select a successor to lead the country.
The warning stated that Israel would continue pursuing any individual involved in rebuilding Iran’s leadership structure. Israeli officials also cautioned participants planning to attend the assembly meeting that they could become targets if they take part in selecting a new leader.
The statement emphasized that Israel would not hesitate to act against anyone involved in appointing a successor, describing the message as a direct warning ahead of the expected gathering in Qom.
