Major General Shlomi Binder, Chief of the IDF’s Military Intelligence Directorate, delivered a resolute message during a briefing at one of the directorate’s command centers. Reflecting on the recent strike that killed Maj. Gen. Ali Shadmani — Iran’s top war commander — Binder emphasized the ongoing campaign against Tehran’s military leadership.
“Two days ago, we struck one of their secret headquarters in the mountains. Some commanders escaped. Twelve hours later, we eliminated the chief of staff of Khatam al-Anbiya who had fled to another mountainous area near Tehran,” Binder said.
He stressed that the mission must continue: “We have to hunt them down wherever they flee. You’re turning Iran — once a distant threat 1,500 kilometers away — into a military we know how to engage with as if it were right next door.”
The remarks highlight Israel’s shift in intelligence and operational reach, collapsing traditional geographic boundaries and redefining strategic engagement with Iran’s command structure.
