The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis’ health has deteriorated, revealing that he is now suffering from a “polymicrobial respiratory tract infection.”
Doctors have described the 88-year-old pontiff’s condition as a “complex clinical picture”, requiring an extended stay at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where he has been receiving medical care.
This latest development comes after reports that Pope Francis had been struggling with respiratory issues in recent weeks, raising concerns about his ability to fulfill his papal duties. Vatican officials have not provided further details but have asked for prayers as the Pope undergoes continued treatment.
