🔹 The US Embassy in Qatar has issued a shelter-in-place advisory for all American citizens in the country, citing heightened regional threats amid escalating Israel–Iran tensions.
🔹 In an official email obtained by Al Arabiya English, the embassy stated:
*“Out of an abundance of caution we recommend American citizens shelter in place until further notice.”*
🔹 This advisory follows a worldwide security alert issued by the US State Department earlier on Monday, urging citizens abroad to exercise increased caution due to potential threats.
🔹 Last week, the embassy in Qatar also restricted access to Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military installation in the Middle East, located west of Doha.
🔹 The embassy warns of potential demonstrations targeting US citizens and interests, and encourages travelers to remain informed of possible disruptions in air travel and airspace closures across the region.
🔹 Americans in Qatar are advised to monitor official updates, avoid large gatherings, and maintain a low profile until further notice.
🔹 These alerts reflect growing instability across the Gulf and wider Middle East, as the Iran–Israel conflict expands in scale and intensity.
