Republican candidate Donald Trump pledged today (Tuesday) to lead “the United States and the world” toward “new peaks of glory” during his final campaign rally speech. Addressing crowds in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a crucial swing state, he declared, “With your vote, we can solve every problem facing our country and lead the United States, and even the world, to new heights of glory,” as reported by AFP.
In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, another swing state, Trump advocated for the death penalty for immigrants involved in the killing of American citizens or police officers, a stance seen as stoking tension between immigrants and American athletes. He expressed frustration over the continued flow of immigrants across the southern border, suggesting that athletes from Pennsylvania State University “wrestle with the immigrants,” sparking further controversy. Trump, at 78, has made illegal immigration a central issue in his campaign, often portraying immigrants as threats to the United States and fueling anti-immigrant sentiment with unverified claims.

وفي حديث ترمب في بيتسبرغ بولاية بنسلفانيا، إحدى الولايات المتأرجحة، دعا إلى فرض عقوبة الإعدام على المهاجرين الذين يقتلون مواطنين أميركيين أو عناصر من الشرطة، مما اعتُبر صداماً بين المهاجرين والرياضيين المحترفين. وأعرب ترمب عن استيائه من تدفق المهاجرين عبر الحدود الجنوبية، واقترح أن يتصارع الرياضيون من جامعة ولاية بنسلفانيا معهم.
يذكر أن ترمب (78 عاماً) جعل من تقييد الهجرة غير القانونية إحدى القضايا المحورية في حملته، حيث صور المهاجرين كأعداء للولايات المتحدة، وأثار مشاعر مناهضة للأجانب بادعاءات غير مثبتة.
