U.S. Military Delegation Meets with President Aoun in Beirut to Discuss Ceasefire Implementation
The Lebanese Presidency announced the arrival of a high-ranking U.S. military delegation in Beirut, led by CENTCOM Commander General Michael Kurilla, alongside the head of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the chairman of the monitoring committee overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
The delegation also included U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea and senior military officials. Discussions with President Joseph Aoun focused on monitoring the implementation of the recent ceasefire, particularly in southern Lebanon, enhancing security and military cooperation, and the role of international forces in maintaining stability along the border.
This meeting comes amid heightened tensions in southern Lebanon and international efforts to solidify calm following recent escalations.
