U.S. President Donald J. Trump confirmed on Truth Social that he had a productive call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussing Ukraine, energy, AI, and more. Trump stated that Putin has agreed to begin peace negotiations immediately and that he will soon speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump emphasized, “No more lives should be lost! This war wouldn’t have happened if I were President—but it must end.”
The U.S. delegation to upcoming peace talks will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
