Trump Fires NSA Director Gen. Timothy Haugh, Deputy Wendy Noble Reassigned — @rageintel
In a surprise late-night shake-up, President Donald J. Trump has removed General Timothy D. Haugh from all three of his senior roles:
• Commander of U.S. Cyber Command (CYBERCOM)
• Director of the National Security Agency (NSA)
• Chief of the Central Security Service (CSS)
Deputy NSA Director Wendy Noble has also been reassigned to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence.
No official reason has been provided for the removals, though both officials were reportedly present during a high-profile visit by Trump advisor Elon Musk to NSA Headquarters at Fort Meade, Maryland last month.
This marks the most significant leadership change within the U.S. intelligence and cyber warfare community under the Trump administration, raising serious questions about the direction of U.S. cyber operations and surveillance policies going forward.
