Keith Kellogg, the U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine, stated today that the United States will not pressure Ukraine into accepting any peace deal and that the decision must be made by President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian people.
“The U.S. will listen to all parties involved, but ultimately, Zelensky and the people of Ukraine will make this decision on their own,” Kellogg emphasized. His remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the war, with speculation about potential U.S.-led negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
This statement reaffirms the Trump administration’s position that Ukraine’s sovereignty and decision-making must be respected, despite increasing pressure from some international actors to seek an immediate resolution to the conflict.
