Sex Toys & Explosives: Russian Hybrid War Plot Uncovered Across Europe — @rageintel
A new Reuters investigation has uncovered a bizarre and dangerous sabotage operation, allegedly orchestrated by Russia’s GRU intelligence agency, involving incendiary parcels disguised as cosmetics, massage pillows, and sex toys.
Key Details:
• In July 2025, explosive parcels detonated at courier depots in Britain, Germany, and Poland.
• Packages were packed with homemade incendiary devices made from magnesium and nitromethane, hidden in cosmetics tubes and detonated by modified Chinese Bluetooth trackers.
• A Ukrainian suspect, Vladyslav Derkavets, allegedly acted on instructions from a GRU handler known only as “Warrior”. He prepared the parcels in Vilnius and handed them off using the codeword “Mary.”
• A fourth parcel, which failed to detonate in Warsaw, provided vital forensic evidence.
• Investigators believe these were “dry runs” for future attacks—potentially targeting cargo flights to the U.S. and Canada.
Polish prosecutors say the goal was to study parcel logistics and timing, potentially planning sabotage of in-transit air shipments. Another accused operative, Alexander Bezrukavyi, a Russian national, has been extradited to Poland from Bosnia and is believed to have tested shipment routes to North America.
This case is seen as a textbook example of Russian hybrid warfare—a blend of disinformation, cyberattacks, sabotage, and psychological operations—aimed at destabilizing pro-Ukraine Western nations.
European officials have raised alarms, calling the attacks part of a wider GRU campaign to weaken Western security from within. The Kremlin denies involvement, dismissing the claims as “blind Russophobia.”
