Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that there are military solutions, led by the United States, to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, though he declined to provide details.
In an interview with Newsmax, Netanyahu said alternative strategies are also being considered to bypass the strait, including plans to redirect Gulf energy exports toward Mediterranean ports to ensure uninterrupted oil and gas flow.
He emphasized that weakening Iran remains a central objective, particularly to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles. Netanyahu added that Israel has already made significant progress in degrading Iran’s missile capabilities, weapons production, and nuclear infrastructure.
He said that while Iran still retains stockpiles of enriched uranium, continued pressure is aimed at eliminating these capabilities. Netanyahu also accused Iran of targeting Gulf states to pressure Washington into halting the war.
According to Netanyahu, Israel has passed the midpoint in achieving its objectives against Iran, though not necessarily in terms of time. He expressed confidence that Iran will emerge significantly weakened, while Israel will come out stronger.
