The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) has published an image of the Israeli flag, reportedly raised in the town of Maroun al-Ras, following an incursion by Israeli forces into the village. Israeli media reports claim that Maroun al-Ras had been used as a launch site for anti-tank missiles targeting Avivim and the Hadb Yaron site.
According to these reports, the town is now under the control of the Israeli military. Israel Hayom noted that this marks the first time in 24 years that Israeli soldiers have raised the Israeli flag in Lebanon, since their withdrawal from the country.
