š®š±š®š· Middle East ā The Israeli military has confirmed the assassination of Iranian Chief of War Staff Ali Shadmani, marking the second targeted elimination of Iranās top war commander since hostilities erupted. Shadmani was killed in a precision airstrike on a military command facility in central Tehran, just five days after his appointment.

In a statement posted on X, IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee said:
āFor the second time, the IDF has eliminated Iranās Chief of War Staff and its highest-ranking military commander.ā
Ali Shadmani was the most senior commander of Iranās military forces, overseeing both the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the regular army. He led Iranās Khatam al-Anbiya Emergency Command, the central hub for wartime military operations and strategic planning.

His predecessor, Gholam Ali Rashid, was also killed in an Israeli strike during the opening phase of the conflict.

According to Israeli intelligence, Shadmani played a direct role in authorizing Iranian attack plans targeting Israel, and was one of the closest figures to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
This latest targeted killing underscores Israelās campaign to systematically dismantle Iranās military leadership. The strike, conducted with the aid of āprecise intelligence,ā delivers a sharp blow to Iranās chain of command and warfighting capability.
