Israel 🇮🇱 | U.S.A 🇺🇸 | Iran 🇮🇷
Israel is reportedly facing a persistent shortage of interceptor missiles, as the country moves to bolster its air defense systems in preparation for a potential Iranian attack. According to the Financial Times, Israeli military officials and defense industry executives have expressed concern over the shortage, particularly if Iran were to launch an attack with Hezbollah’s involvement.
The U.S. has stepped in to help fill the gaps in Israel’s air defense, announcing the deployment of the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) missile system within Israel. American troops are expected to operate the system. Israeli Defense Industry executives have acknowledged that the country needs to replenish its stockpiles of munitions, with the CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries stating, “It’s no secret that we need to renew our ammunition reserves.”
Former senior defense officials have warned that Israel’s air defense could be stretched to the limit if Iran and Hezbollah launch simultaneous attacks, highlighting the urgent need for reinforcement.
