Israel Eliminates Two IRGC Quds Force Commanders in Strikes on Iran
• Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the targeted killing of Saeed Izadi, a senior commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force, during an airstrike on an apartment in Qom province.
• Izadi led the Palestine Corps and was accused of arming and financing Hamas and Islamic Jihad, including during the October 7 attacks. He had previously been sanctioned by both the U.S. and the U.K..
• Hours later, the Israeli military announced the elimination of a second Quds Force commander, Behnam Shariyari, in a precision strike on his vehicle in western Tehran.
• Shariyari was reportedly responsible for all weapons transfers from Iran to its regional proxies, including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis in Yemen, supplying many of the missiles launched at Israel.
• The Quds Force, Iran’s elite foreign operations wing, has seen growing losses as Israeli operations intensify across the region.
• While the IRGC has not confirmed the deaths, Israeli officials describe the eliminations as a major intelligence and operational success.
