Iran Rejects Trump’s Direct Talks Claim, Calls It ‘Psychological Warfare’
Iran’s state-affiliated Nour News, linked to the Supreme National Security Council, has dismissed President Donald Trump’s claim that direct talks between the U.S. and Iran have already begun—labeling the statement a “planned psychological operation.”
The outlet stated:
“Trump’s move is part of a calculated media game to portray the U.S. as eager for diplomacy and shift blame onto Iran for any diplomatic failure.”
While Trump had announced earlier that talks were underway and would “continue on Saturday,” Iranian sources told The New York Times that only indirect talks are planned to take place in Oman, marking a shift in Tehran’s posture—but stopping short of face-to-face dialogue.
This adds to the growing strategic mistrust between both nations, as pressure mounts over Iran’s nuclear program and escalating regional tensions.
