The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the killing of senior Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil in an airstrike targeting Beirut. Aqil, a prominent leader within Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Unit, was responsible for overseeing strategic military operations, including Hezbollah’s “Plan to Occupy the Galilee,” a blueprint for infiltrating northern Israel during future conflicts.
The airstrike also eliminated several other senior Hezbollah operatives involved in the Radwan Unit’s operations. Aqil’s death marks a significant blow to Hezbollah’s military leadership, disrupting its strategic capabilities in the region.
This latest strike is part of Israel’s broader effort to dismantle Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in Lebanon, particularly in the face of growing tensions along the Israeli-Lebanese border.
