🇱🇧 In a fiery speech on Sunday, Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem firmly rejected any calls for disarmament or softening the group’s position, citing the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon. His remarks came as ceasefire talks continue to falter amid continued Israeli military activity.
Qassem emphasized that resistance remains non-negotiable, asserting:
“How can we abandon our weapons while the enemy continues its aggression? Our missiles are the core of our defense.”
He stressed that Hezbollah’s fight is a duty to defend Lebanon, accusing Israel of committing thousands of violations even after the supposed ceasefire. He also slammed normalization efforts in the region, describing them as humiliating and shameful.
“We will never be part of legitimizing the occupation,” he added, reaffirming the alliance between Hezbollah and Amal as unified in all confrontations.
Qassem criticized the U.S. support for Israel, stating that the ceasefire was supposed to halt hostilities, but instead enabled further violations. He concluded by reaffirming Hezbollah’s position:
“Even if the whole world conspires to stop us, resistance will continue. We carry the trust of our martyrs.”
