The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong advisory against all travel to Russia, citing heightened security concerns linked to the war in Ukraine and Moscow’s designation of Poland as an “unfriendly state.” Polish citizens currently in Russia are urged to leave immediately using any available means unless their presence is absolutely necessary.
The advisory warns that consular assistance is becoming increasingly limited due to the reduction of Polish diplomatic staff in Russia following local restrictions on consulate operations in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. Obtaining assistance may require travel to distant consular offices.
Authorities also caution that failure to register travel to Russia in the Odysseus system could hinder consular support in crisis situations. In the event of a severe deterioration in security conditions, including potential border closures, evacuation could become extremely difficult or even impossible.
