The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will implement a humanitarian ceasefire tomorrow morning until evening across several population centers in Gaza, including areas in the northern Strip, according to a senior Israeli official.
The decision was made during a high-level phone discussion involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, and top defense officials. Under this temporary truce, the IDF will provide safe access for the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to deliver critical aid.
“It is estimated that this will significantly increase the quantities of food entering,” the official stated. The plan includes measures to ensure humanitarian corridors remain secure during the designated period.
Officials further noted that humanitarian truces will be repeated periodically as needed, signaling Israel’s intent to balance military operations with urgent humanitarian requirements amid ongoing conflict. This move comes amid mounting international calls to alleviate Gaza’s humanitarian crisis while efforts for a permanent ceasefire remain stalled.
