🇺🇦🇺🇸 WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to travel to the United States as early as Monday for a high-level meeting with U.S. President Donald J. Trump, according to officials familiar with the planning. The visit comes just days after the Trump–Putin summit in Alaska ended without a concrete agreement, leaving key questions unresolved regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Zelensky’s trip is anticipated to focus on military aid, defense cooperation, and the broader U.S. strategy toward Russia, following Trump’s comments that it would be “up to Ukraine” to decide its course in potential negotiations. The meeting is also expected to address security guarantees for Kyiv, especially amid concerns over Russian military buildups and continued fighting along the front lines.
This visit marks another critical diplomatic engagement for Zelensky as he seeks to secure stronger commitments from Washington ahead of potentially decisive months in the conflict. White House officials have not yet released the official schedule or confirmed whether joint statements will be made following the talks.
