A U.S. fighter jet was reportedly shot down over Iran, according to Iranian media and a source familiar with the incident, with search and rescue operations underway for the two crew members on board.

Images and videos released by Iranian state outlets appear to show parts of the wreckage, including what looks like an ejection seat. Initial assessments suggest the aircraft may be an F-15 fighter jet.
If confirmed, this would mark the first known instance of a U.S. aircraft being downed by enemy fire since the start of the war.
At this stage, the U.S. military and the White House have not issued any official confirmation or response regarding the incident.
The situation remains developing as efforts continue to locate the crew and verify details surrounding the downing of the aircraft.
