U.S. President Donald J. Trump sharply criticized NATO allies, calling the alliance ineffective without the United States and accusing members of refusing to join efforts against Iran.

He claimed the conflict had been “militarily won” with minimal risk for allies, while accusing them of complaining about rising oil prices without taking action to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump argued that reopening the vital shipping route would be a simple military task, criticizing allied inaction and warning that the United States would remember their stance.
