U.S. President Donald Trump said the decision on when to end the war with Iran will be coordinated with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, though he emphasized that he will ultimately make the final call.
Speaking to The Times of Israel, Trump said the decision would be mutual but confirmed that he would determine the timing of the war’s conclusion. “I think it’s mutual… We’ve been talking. I’ll make a decision at the right time,” he said.
Trump also claimed that Iran had been planning to destroy Israel and destabilize the region, arguing that the current military campaign has placed Tehran in a position of unprecedented pressure. According to Trump, the conflict could push other actors to reconsider their military ambitions, saying many groups may choose to disarm as a result of Iran’s weakened position.
In the same remarks, Trump also expressed support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying Netanyahu “should be given that pardon immediately.”
The comments come as the war between Iran, Israel, and U.S. forces continues to escalate, with ongoing military operations across the region and no clear timeline yet for when the conflict might end.
