U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed threats from Iranian security chief Ali Larijani, who warned that Trump would “pay the price” for recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran. Larijani had issued the warning in response to the ongoing military campaign targeting Iranian military and political infrastructure.
In a phone interview with CBS News, Trump downplayed the remarks, saying he was not concerned about the threat. “I have no idea what he’s talking about, who he is. I couldn’t care less,” Trump said, adding that Larijani had “already been defeated.”
Larijani, who serves as secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has become one of the most prominent Iranian officials speaking publicly during the escalating conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel.
The exchange reflects the intensifying rhetoric between Washington and Tehran as military operations and retaliatory threats continue across the region.
