The Israeli military confirmed that special forces conducted a nighttime operation aimed at locating belongings linked to missing Israeli pilot Ron Arad. According to the Israeli army, the forces attempted to search for possible items connected to Arad during the mission carried out overnight.
The army stated that no Israeli casualties were reported during the operation. However, officials also confirmed that no belongings or remains related to Ron Arad were found at the location where the search took place.
Ron Arad, an Israeli Air Force navigator, was captured in Lebanon in 1986 after his aircraft went down during a mission over southern Lebanon. His fate has remained unknown for decades, making him one of Israel’s most prominent missing servicemen. Over the years, Israeli intelligence agencies have carried out multiple investigations and operations attempting to uncover information about his disappearance.
The latest operation appears to be part of these long-running efforts to locate evidence connected to Arad’s fate.
