Circulating footage shows what appears to be a large pit reportedly dug by Israeli commando forces inside the Al-Shokr cemetery in the town of Nabi Chit in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. According to regional reports, the operation was allegedly linked to a search for the remains of missing Israeli Air Force navigator Ron Arad, whose fate has remained unknown for nearly four decades. Arad was captured in Lebanon in 1986 after his aircraft went down during a mission, and he was believed to have been held by the Amal movement before disappearing in the late 1980s.
The village of Nabi Chit has repeatedly appeared in intelligence reports related to Arad’s disappearance. Investigations and testimonies over the years indicated that he was at one point held in a house belonging to the Shukr family in the area before traces of him vanished in 1988.
Past reports also suggested that Israeli intelligence conducted covert operations in the region, including attempts to locate possible burial sites or extract DNA from remains believed to be linked to the missing pilot.
The newly circulating video reportedly shows a freshly dug pit in the cemetery, with claims that the operation took place shortly before clashes erupted in the area. No official confirmation has yet been issued regarding the authenticity of the footage or the details of the alleged operation.
