Explosions were heard in downtown Dubai, including one described as very loud, as Iran continues its military campaign against Gulf states in response to ongoing U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iran, according to a correspondent on the ground.
An AFP correspondent reported seeing small clouds of smoke rising above a residential neighborhood, indicating that an impact or interception may have occurred in the area.
The incident comes amid a broader regional escalation in which Iran has launched missiles and drones targeting Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, following attacks on Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure by U.S. and Israeli forces.
Authorities have not yet released official details about the cause of the blasts or whether they resulted from direct impacts or air-defense interceptions, and there are currently no confirmed reports of casualties.
The situation remains fluid as air defenses across the Gulf continue to respond to ongoing missile and drone threats linked to the expanding regional conflict.
