This morning, Lebanon witnessed a significant escalation as the Israeli army launched a large-scale aerial campaign spanning from southern Lebanon to its eastern regions. Powerful explosions were heard across southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and the Hermel Mountains.
The Israeli military announced that it is “currently carrying out extensive strikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.” According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, some of the airstrikes penetrated up to 125 kilometers deep into Lebanese territory.
Israeli media reported that “dozens of fighter jets are participating in the assault on southern Lebanon and deeper targets,” with the number of airstrikes reaching 100 in a short period.

An additional strike hit the al-Housh area in the Tyre district.
Bekaa Valley Strikes:
In the Bekaa Valley, intense airstrikes targeted the following areas:
- Mountains around Taraya, Shmistar, and Buday
- Farms near Beit Meshik
- The town of Zaboud
- Hermel Mountains
As explosions continued in northern Bekaa, An-Nahar‘s correspondent in Baalbek reported that the thunderous sounds indicated that the missiles used in the strikes were of high destructive capability.
Additionally, Israeli warplanes were seen flying at medium altitude over the Akkar regions, moving from the sea towards the Bekaa Valley.
This massive aerial invasion marks the most extensive military action by Israel in Lebanon since the 2006 war, creating a fire belt across large parts of the country and signaling a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
