Iranian state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency has claimed that another U.S. or Israeli fighter jet may have been shot down, possibly identifying it as an F-16 Fighting Falcon based on newly released images of debris.

However, the claim remains unconfirmed, with no official acknowledgment from U.S. or Israeli authorities.

Analysis of the available imagery raises serious doubts about the identification. Experts note that the size, shape, and structural components of the debris do not match those of an F-16. This mirrors earlier incidents in the conflict where Iranian media initially misidentified aircraft — including confusing an F-35 Lightning II with a different platform.

Recent verified reporting confirmed that debris previously circulated by Iranian outlets was consistent with a U.S. F-15E, not an F-35 as initially claimed.
Additionally, past claims by Iranian media of downed aircraft have often lacked independent verification or were later disputed.
At this stage, the latest claim appears to be based solely on unverified imagery, with growing indications that the debris does not correspond to an F-16.
The situation remains unclear, pending confirmation or denial from official military sources.
