Netanyahu Orders Expanded Buffer Zone in Lebanon

Netanyahu orders expansion of a buffer zone in southern Lebanon as Israel prepares to intensify ground operations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he has ordered the expansion of the current security buffer zone in southern Lebanon.

According to Israeli reports, Netanyahu held a security assessment with the defense minister and chief of staff in preparation for expanding ground operations inside Lebanon.

Netanyahu stated that Israel is determined to fundamentally change the situation in the north, emphasizing that the country is engaged in a multi-front war against Iran and its allies.

He said Israeli forces continue to strike Iran and its regional proxies with force, claiming significant achievements and visible pressure on Iran’s leadership structure.

Netanyahu added that Iran no longer possesses a military capability that poses an existential threat to Israel, and that Hezbollah has also been weakened.

He further noted that Israel has established multiple security zones across Lebanon, Gaza, and Syria as part of its broader defense strategy.
