The United States has approved multiple major defense sales to Gulf countries, significantly boosting regional military capabilities amid rising tensions.
For the UAE, the approved packages include F-16 munitions and upgrades worth $644 million, a long-range discrimination radar with THAAD integration valued at $4.5 billion, advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles worth $1.22 billion, and a $2.1 billion counter-drone system designed to defeat low, slow, and small UAV threats.
Kuwait is set to receive lower-tier air and missile defense radar systems in a deal valued at $8 billion, enhancing its early warning and defensive capabilities.
The approvals reflect a broader U.S. strategy to strengthen allied air defense and counter-drone networks across the Gulf region.
