Iran’s recent attack has knocked out approximately 17% of Qatar’s LNG production capacity, with repairs expected to take between three to five years, according to QatarEnergy’s CEO.
The damage impacts key facilities at Ras Laffan, one of the world’s most critical energy hubs, raising serious concerns over global gas supply and long-term market stability.
QatarEnergy CEO Saad al-Kaabi described the attack as unprecedented, stating he “never in [his] wildest dreams” expected Qatar and the region to face such an assault—especially from what he referred to as a “brotherly Muslim country” during the month of Ramadan.
