U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces carried out precision strikes using multiple 5,000-pound deep penetrator munitions against hardened Iranian missile sites along the country’s coastline near the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CENTCOM, the targeted sites housed Iranian anti-ship cruise missiles that posed a direct threat to international shipping in the strategic waterway. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to neutralize Iran’s ability to disrupt maritime traffic and global energy flows through the strait.
