The Israeli military has accused Iran’s Quds Force and Hezbollah of using Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport for smuggling funds intended to arm Hezbollah for attacks against Israel.
In a statement posted on X, IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed that in recent weeks, Iranian and Hezbollah operatives have been exploiting civilian flights to transfer money for military purposes.
“The IDF remains in contact with the ceasefire monitoring mechanism and continuously shares intelligence to prevent these transfers,” Adraee said, acknowledging that some smuggling attempts have likely succeeded despite efforts to intercept them.
He warned that the Israeli military “will not allow Hezbollah to strengthen its arsenal and will use all available means to enforce the ceasefire agreements to ensure Israel’s security.”
