Syrian Opposition Orders Withdrawal of Fighters and Deploys Security Forces
According to sources close to Syrian opposition factions, their leadership has ordered fighters to withdraw from cities and deploy internal security and police units affiliated with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). This move is part of an effort to stabilize areas under opposition control following significant gains.
Israel Denies Advancing Toward Damascus
In a separate development, the Israeli military stated that its forces are not advancing toward Damascus. The Israeli army emphasized that it has no interest in Syria beyond protecting its borders and civilians, reiterating that its operations are aimed at preventing strategic Syrian weapons from falling into hostile hands.
However, regional and Syrian security sources reported earlier today that Israeli forces advanced up to 25 kilometers into southern Syria, prompting widespread regional condemnation of the incursion.
