Biden Advisor Amos Hochstein: Ceasefire Agreement in Lebanon Possible Soon
Amos Hochstein, senior advisor to President Biden, expressed optimism about reaching a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon during a briefing with reporters at the White House. “I am hopeful that we can succeed,” Hochstein stated.
Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer met today at the White House with National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, along with Amos Hochstein and Brett McGurk, to discuss the potential ceasefire deal. Hochstein noted that Dermer presented Israel’s position, and now the U.S. is awaiting a response from Lebanon. He added that another trip to Beirut might not be necessary to finalize the agreement. Hochstein emphasized that there will be no involvement of Russia in the ceasefire agreement or its supervision.
